Probably a stupid question to most. Is FSB the same as the local bus?

Hmmm... Local bus... Haven't heard that term in too many applications. The only one I can remember is Vesa Local Bus. So I'm going to make an educated guess at this one and say no. The front side bus is the bus that connects the processor to the RAM, and the drive contorllers, and everything else in the computer. Seems to me that the local bus doesn't have to be so specific.
