I have what used to be MediaOne BroadBand/ Road Runner 2 way cable internet.

I had continous problems...it was always blamed on cable noise or bad modems...etc...so much that I had the modem switched out twice...ended up with a 2 way surfboard ( SB3100 ) modem.

Well...still had the same problems until one day...when my IP changed to a different network, with a 65.xxx.xxx.xxx range as oppossed to the old 24.xxx.xxx.xxx range.

I assume they switched all the mediaone servers out to AT&T servers...but the amazing thing is I have not had one single loss of internet since they did that! And that was almost a month ago!

I am impressed AT&T!

I too have been impressed with AT&T(/@Home) from a technical standpoint. IOW, when it's working right, which is most all the time, it is great!

But, don't you dare have any problems that require assistance from their end. It's not that they aren't pleasant and seemingly helpful, 'cause that's the impression you'll get. Problem is, if you were to call 3 times in a row (& talk to 3 different reps) with the identical problem, I can assure you there will be 3 different solutions. If you're lucky, one of those solutions might solve your problem.

So, as an experienced (just over a year now) AT&T/@Home user the best word of advice I have for ya is this: preventative troubleshooting.

Do this by making sure you have all your pertinent connection information recorded somewhere. So that, if need be, you could set it all up from scratch. I simply took screenshots of all my network/TCP-IP/DNS/etc. settings & then printed it out. It has saved me more once.

( OK look I Have done all this 3 times now can we try something new IT IS NOT ANY OF THAT **** )
