Hey!

I'm doing a project for an advanced computers class in school and i was wondering if anybody can refer me to some really good pages that have info on cutting edge storage devices. they can be portable, internal, ANYTHING really! they just have to be new and exiting!
an example would be:

anything of the sort would be much appreciated, thanks!

Check out the FMD technology, among other neat things, in the great article by Joel at http://sysopt.earthweb.com/articles/comdex2000/index.html

Good luck! Brangwen http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif

Here's a link to page with some details regarding current and near-future devices.
http://www.dell.com/us/en/biz/topics/vectors_2000-rmsd.htm

The introduction of the Fluorescent Multi-layer Disc (FMD) smashes the barriers of existing data storage formats

FMD ROM discs will hold 50 - 140 Gigabytes of pre-recorded data on 12 - 30 data layers with a total thickness of under 2mm.

In comparison, a standard DVD disc holds just 4.7 gigabytes.

Transfer speeds can exceed 1 gigabit per second. http://www.c-3d.net/product_frameset.html

Lotsa luck and Mucho Denero
