please can any one explain why my mobo,s fsb is reported as 66mhz on 3d mark 2001 and pc mark.i thought this board ran at at least 100mhz.i am using a amd duron 950mhz procesor which says its got a speed of 100 x 9.5 in the bios settings. when i change this to 133mhz the system fails to boot correctly. is there a problem with my board or is it supposed to run at this speed?. also i have got hold of 266 ddr memory,is this faster than normal sdram. many thanks

Well, first of all...that Duron is locked from the factory. The L1 bridges are laser cut. These can be reconnected with a conductive pen with the silver ink that is used to repair a broken trace on a circuit board. Without those L1 bridges being completed, the board will only run at the 100 mhz default fsb. I don't have a clue why your software is reporting 66 mhz.

is it hard to reconnect the processor by using these pens then?or is it pretty straight forward

Actually you can use a pencil. Its not permanent , so if you dont like the effects you can erase it.:D Search the o/c sites for the 'L1 Pencil Trick'. Here's (http://overclockers.com/tips402/) a start.

edit: Before you o/c be sure your cpu IS running @ 100 fsb correctly. Trust your Bios and Windows. DDR will double your 133 sdram bandwidth.
