When i try to restart...(restart only) ......I get this.........

A fatal exception 0D has ocurred at 0147:00000686.....

Anyone have any clues,,or ideas,,on what this is,,,,and how to solve it.......

It seems that it started after i upgraded my RAM to 128mb previously 32mb....Thanx

Since this is occuring since the memory upgrade, I would strongly suspect the RAM you added. Remove one stick at a time and try to isolate the stick.

i only have 1 in,,,the system originally only had one 32mg stick,,so i just replaced it with 1 128mg stick

Take the new memory out and reinstall the 32MB stick. If you get no error with it, the problem is bad memory.

utoe.... Gee. I don't know. Click on it. Read. If you would just click on it, you would see on the page that opens, "What Are Windows 95/98 Fatal Exception Errors?", click on that and gain some insight. Do some reading. I used to get Fatal Errors and they weren't caused by by bad memory. (no offence Bill)

If your talking about clicking on the fatal exception,,,It happens in the middle of the restart,,,,so if i had the options to "click on it" then i would,,,Im not an idiot,,,so dont talk to me like one....

Please remember this remark, I think Bill has a very good idea. It might help to slove your problem.

If it does not happen with the old RAM. It might be that the new RAM is no good. Sometimes it happens and you have to send it back and get another one.

Do you have motherboard manual?If not list model,so we can take a look at the specs. see what RAM config. works.
