Comtech 12-19-2000, 08:00 AM It will probably run, but you risk the chance of completely melting the chip. If it's cool enough, it will probably overclock nicely at 2.0v I would check for a BIOS update. Most mfg have one out that allows for the lower voltage for newer chips. Roy 12-19-2000, 09:17 AM I have run a PIII at 1.8V for months and done some testing at 2.0V. It didn't help witn OC stability. Cooling is the key, 2.0V is 21% greater than 1.65V and considered aggressive. Comtech's suggestion to upgrade the BIOS, if possible, is the best idea. Dputiger 12-19-2000, 09:46 AM You haven't specified, but if this is a Socket PIII going into a Slot motherboard, you could get a slocket that would let you auto-adjust the voltage. That might help you right there. Roy 12-19-2000, 10:13 AM Look for more answers in your similar (almost identical) thread elswhere. Mntsnow 12-19-2000, 10:21 AM I have already linked the other thread that had a reply to this thread and I have deleted the others that had not gotten a reply before I got there. In the future please post a question to ONE forum only please. It makes it hard to follow up on what has and has not been tried or suggested and just clutters up the forums in general when done that way. SysOpt.com
