Hi

First of all I have done no overclocking. I have a 1Ghz TB 512Mb RAM and Win2K which is perfectly adequate for my needs (and very stable).

However, I like to play.

I have followed the "overclocking" link from the homepage and seen the chart which states "AMD Duron 500 MHz - 2.2 GHz"

I have looked around this site and the web and can see nowhere that even gets close to this. It also only has a sample size of 1.

Common sense tells me this COULD be possible but would be unstable and unpredictable and need far more cooling than would be practical BUT I would love to try it.

Any thoughts?

Look at the detail view for the listing you are talking about. You will see that it's completely made up. There are 2 listings for Duron like that both by the same guy that are both nonsense.

Maybe I'm just pi$$ed off 'cos I'm gullible but that's not funny.

Here I am trying to learn about overclocking and....

never mind, I'm going to bed.

 :o :( :D

p.s. thank you Seggybop for showing me the error of my ways. (on my 1st post aswell!)

Common sense Should tell you that, that is a fake.

Whats that 1700mhz or somthin.

They did push the 2.0 or 2.2a to somthin like 3.6 with somne liquid nitrogen or somthin.

That is not 1700mhz though.

Another point I dont believ they even ever made a 500mhz duron.

I am pretty sure they srat with the spitfire core at 650mhz.

I believe first "Spitfire" was 550MHz and first "Thunderbird" was 600MHz.

Duron debuted at 500MHz, but there's still no way it would ever reach 2.2GHz.

I was assuming since I checked a few sites and I couldnt buy 1. Nowadays.

So I just figured.

Wrong again I guess.
