According to this ECS page it at least goes to XP2000+:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/support/faq/table-k7.htm
Depending on board revision.Should autodetect I believe.

Check the manual,etc. here:
http://www.ecs.com.tw/download/download.htm
A lot of people on this site have that board and setup.I don't run AMD either.
You don't have the manual?
According to that link I posted last if the board is rev. 1.1 or greater it'll work (although only 2000+ is listed webpage may not be updated yet).
If you set some jumpers recheck them...
Maybe you set jumper to other than auto or 133.
As you can see bus speed is 133MHZ.
araarara is an AMD man I believe? and many others - come back later.
Also check AMD and this Link:

This site has good FAQ for your board. It will not answer that question because the chip is so new. Go to the ecs site as suggested and get the newest bios. Then you should be all set.

I'm almost positive the newest bios, (020602) supports your chip. You may have to flash if you do not have that bios.

Hi,
I just built a system using the Elitegroup ECS K7S5A and an AMD Athlon XP 1700+, and it works perfectly. Even without flashing the BIOS to the latest date, it was still able to recognize the XP processor. Alot of online retailers are selling combos with the K7S5A and the XP 2100+ CPU, so I'm pretty sure that the latest revision of the PCB is compatible with all current XPs.
