If I had a 5 partition 30GB Harddrive right now, and I wanted to upgrade to a 45x2 gb RAID (Striping), and sell off the 30gb, what would the best way to go about it be? I also want the partition sizes to be different.
C: and D: are operating system partitions (WinME, and Win2K) and the rest are mostly data and games.
The tools i have available to me are ghost 51c, Partition Magic 5, and the usual fdisk.

All the harddrives are IBM 75GXP's.
Should i set up the array first? then ghost C: and D:?
or form the array, then fdisk the array (never did that before, not sure how it works), then ghost C and D, and move the rest?

Also, which IDE connectors should I hook em up to? Both to the same controller? both as masters on different connectors? Does this change if I hook up any other harddrives to the RAID connectors?

I have a KT7-RAID.

You got all the tools you need man.
Ghost and partition magic will do it all for you. Ghost your original to the new one, then resize the partitions with partition magic. Seems pretty simple to me, or maybe I missed something? As far as cable hook up goes, if they both run at udma100 then hook them up together, if not, hook them up separately, as it'll only run as fast as the slowest device on the cable. Good Luck...Fudge
