I'm attempting to rename some files (MP3's), but right clicking only produces a drop-down list of options once in a while. Other files are no problem. These files DO have very long names...is that part of the problem? Any ideas that might help?

try clicking the item once to high lite it then click it again after a few seconds, it should make it so you can edit the file name. (do not double click)

Oh c'mon...just kidding http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif
The only lamers are ones who dont ask and never learn.

Hmm...I rename those long MP3's all the time but usually dont use the R. click menu, I 2x click...sloow, then use the arrow keys, etc. to move the now blinking cursor inside the title box and delete all the extra letters I dont want/need. That always works for me http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I always use an ID3 tag editor or Cool Player (http://software.dmusic.com/details.php?id=2) 's built in tag editor. You can change the title, artist, etc and it will rename the file with what ever info you want displayed (such as "artist - song.mp3").

Click with mouse or highlight with arrow keys, and push F2.
