Hi,
I've recently installed win xp pro and there are a few things that are bothering me (well two).

When I shut down my compter, it doesn't shut down automatically, I have to manually shhut down with the power button. What is the remedy for this? I want it to turn off automatically.

Secondly, when I startup the computer, it prompts me to sign in using my password through my winxp login. Since there's only one login (i'm the only user), is there any way to make winxp automatically go into my user name?

Thanks for your time.

Heh, nevermind. I should've done some research in the first place.

Check your advanced power management setting in the control panel. Click the Advanced tab in the Power Options box. If the APM tab is unavailable, your computer is compliant with Advanced Configuration and Power Interface (ACPI), which automatically enables APM support and disables the APM tab.

For login, you can use TweakUI to control that, or change it in user profiles.

I'm not sure if PowerToys (with TweakUI) is available again from Microsoft yet, but someone could send it to you via private email.

OK, I'll nevermind. Your second post made it before I could finish this!
