I have really been keeping you guys busy lately with more installation problems than an ant hill in a river bed. I have tried recently to save the install package for IE only to find that there are critical files missing. How can you store to disk for fresh install later?

Assuming you have a full set of the program or have it on a disk just make a folder outside of windows, call it whatever and copy the package there.
If you're talking about the set of files downloaded from windows update do the same.

When running Setup, choose Advanced and the Download only. Select all options.

Keep in mind that the Setup wizard "phones home" to check for updates before running.

You may want to try using IEAK (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ieak/default.asp) to make a more permanent installation package.
