What programs are you guys running to check CPU temps. I have an Asus P4TE and it came with asus prob, dont know how accurate it is. With my P4 1.8A and a Thermaltake Dragon 478 it is at 57C. When I go into my BIOS and use the Hardware monitor, it says it running at 36C. Thats a big difference. Is this because of the load of the OS? Or is it just a standard fluctuation? Is there another program out there that would be more accurate?

I use mbm5 as well as the latest asus probe, and I still fugde factor for about 8C less than what they read. I have 1.4t-bird@1.55 and running approximately 43C at full load.:)

I tried motherboard monitor and it would not show my CPU temp. It showed my fan speeds fine but no CPU or mobo temps. I downloaded Hardware Systems Monitor and it shows 35C. I also read some post where some people were saying they couldnt get the Asus probe to register anything under 40C. That just seems odd that two are showing about the same and Asus probe shows a much higher temp.

SiSoftSandra will also give you temp readings for cpu and mainboard, though I don't know how accurate the readings are. At least you'll have another reference to decide real temps. I'd go with your BIOS readings, though these are only at idle.

I have sandra and it says its at 33C. So I would imagine that the Asus prob is either wrong, or all the rest are.....

Asus prob has been none to be wrong.:(
I use VIA hardware monitor.
If the majority says around 33C than go with that.

I figured as much. I just wanted to see how accurate the others were supposed to be. Thanks

I use the software that came with the motherboard to read the temps.
