Hey guys what’s going on? I just started selling a Wholesale information package on e-bay that I put together. I decided since everybody here is soo alsome... I'd give it out to you'll for free! I just put together my web site so don't laugh, but anyway it is at:
http://informationresourcep.tripod.com/

As long as you'll don't mass distribute the package, just download the file and install it using "savemoney" as the password. If your wondering what’s in the package - it's just a whole bunch of information on where to buy stuff and how to do stuff, if you got some extra time its pretty interesting to read.

I've got a few questions concerning my page I put together... I am using FrontPage 2000 and it seems that right when I insert any graphic, it distorts it. Does anybody know how to get around this? Also, my message box thing, when you hit submit you gets a crummy white page, how can I change this page? Also… Is there anyway to get rid of the tripod advertisement at the top? And finally, what do you’ll think of my “Interactive Demo”? Pretty good for a first timer in the web page arena, huh?

P.P.S
After I installed Windows 2000 on my comp, when I try to shutdown in Windows 98 se my computer just restarts? Any body know how to fix this? Also my computer seems to just kina freeze every now and then. What it does is, I will be working in word, FrontPage ect. and playing mp3s, and I will go to open a new explorer window and nothing happens, so I click it again and then about 30-45 sec later the windows pop up really fast. What’s up with that? I've got 1ghz T-bird (Not OCed at the moment), 512 PC-133 Kingston ram, KT7-Raid, and 4 30gig ATA-100 IBM Hard drives on stripping. It pretty much just sits for about half a minuet and then starts moving fine.

Well I hope you’ll enjoy my little package and I just wanna say thank you to everyone that makes this forum such a great place. So Merry Christmas (and Hanakkuk….)!!!

I had a javascript that would kill the tripod pop up but it stoped working. (I gusse they figured it out. I didnt right it I found at a site.) I do know that if you get a domain name from domainzero.com for some reason it keeps the popups from happening. (my site for example monster-gamers-unite.com is hosted at tripod but the domain name is from domainero and lo and behold no pop ups..) you get the embeded adds as well.

As for Win98SE restarting instead of shutting down, you can get a patch which should fix this problem, have a search on the microsoft site, should be able to find it somewhere.

Thankz Over Clocked.
I can maybe help somewhat with the graphics part! The wholesale info logo looks good, I don't see a difference between the image and what's on your page, as for the "resource packet v 2.0" its not so good - sorry but its not that crisp. Its a real thin font, at a angle then a motion blur. Might look better with a fatter font head on with a outline or you could add a motion blur and see! I think FP is ok!
It will be worth your while checking out the anti alias options you have and experimenting with those, that's the reason some images have that halo around them. The higher end photo programs have appz to customize this to the background you are using.
Another point worth mentioning is images can usually be optimized for the web. Jpegs can be compressed to 50% usually without any deteriation, gifs can be optimized by removing unwanted colors. A couple of my programs have this option (U Lead -Smart Saver & Adobe PS 5.5)gifs can be optimized online at http://www.pagetutor.com/pagetutor/makapage/lesson15.html#gifoptimizer If you use Photoshop there is some great text FX tutorials at http://www.teamphotoshop.com/photoshop/tutorials/ps_tut.php even if you don't have photoshop it may give you some good ideas
Hope this helped

(edited to include)
I would also want to check the spelling of version it looks to me like the i is missing gotta look professional eh!

Yea I know, the page sucks. It was getting kinna late and I just threw it together (you can tell since I spelled verison wrong in my graphic!). But I'll be working on it... To make those graphics I used fireworks (first attemp at that program ever), I then just cut and pasted the image to FP and FP automatically converted it to a gif and saved it. I think thats whats making it get distorted, in fireworks it is a whole lot crisper, cleaner and the "Resource Packet Ver. 2.0" is somwhat transparent. Fireworks can only save files with the fireworks extention.

PS
How did you see what the actual file looked like on my page? And what did you'll think about my "interactive demo" and the package itself.

Hey cmon Over Clocked, I never said your page sucked, tehehe - just that V 2.0 gif. Yeh I liked the interactive guide, worked fine - sorry I did not try the packet out!
Just write click on any web page graphic whilst surfing and you can do a number of options including save picture or view properties. A tip I like is go to view, click on source and you can check out the html file used to create that page, really usefull when you see something you like and want an idea on how they did it.
They both have transpatent backgrounds, did you make the "wholesale information" image the same way? that turned out good eh. want me to do a few versions on paintshop, eye candy, Ulead. Let me know I'll post em on my website.
Hope this helps - Biff http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

I D/L'd the package and it landed with the wrong extension; it landed as Information Packet Ver 2.0[1] (the 01 after the . was seen as the extension), I simply renamed the file to Info.exe http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif All's well now.

Rat.

One more thing OC, it seems to me that the counter is not working. It was at 1 for me each time I visited, and its still at 1 after other members have been there. Plus you might want to advance it to a realistic number so people dont think there the first one to use it! Just an idea buddy

Thank for the replys guys. Yea I had the counter set at 300 for a while but it got screwed or somthing on my last up load.

Hey Biff, that would be really cool if you could do a few examples for me, thanks man. Yea, I've got some work to do....

Hey I also have 2 more problems on my computerthat I forgot to mention http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif

1)Some times when I am on my windows desktop my "start menu bar" disapears. It usally happens when I delete a folder for some reason?? The whole thing just goes away kinda of like auto-hide except there is nothing at the bottom at all and it doesn't come back up. If I open up another folder on my desktop,it re-appears.

2)I have NAV 2001 and anytime I try to scan a file I get the BSOD. I reinstalled NAV and did the updates, but still the same problem. Does this sound like a virus?? If I boot to win 2K, NAV works fine. Thats kinda making me think it could be a virus because windows cannot read the NTFS partition for W2K, therefore a virus could not spread over there from windows 98 (where I download all kinds of ****!).

Thanks guys!

OK OC I got it here http://members.home.net/biffland/font-test.htm I kept it really simple with just an outline to look more professional. They are optimized, 8 or 16 colors so they are only 5 to 8k in size, I'm fussy about fast loading pages. I Screwed up the size I think (may of got the two backwards)I could do some funkier stuff if you want its your page right! 3D-motion trail or change the font let me know
hope it works out for ya - Biff
