Okay, I know AOL is sooo lame, but most of the family uses it. So, does anyone out there know of a decent pinger that would keep us from getting knocked off line when we're say downloading large files?
Thanks

You could try using Gozilla, it lets you resume from broken or failed downloads. www.gozilla.com (http://www.gozilla.com)
I have AOL also (would like cable or dsl, but I'm not the one who pays the bills). Anyway, I use Getright (http://********right.com) for my donwload management. I know GoZilla includes anti-virus software (InnoculateIT), but I prefer having Getright and using Nortons AV. Works great!

Huh? Since when does Gozilla have its own virus software included. (not its own but you know what I mean) I have it set up to use Norton antivirus 2001 my self. Is that a new feature that was implimented that I dont know about? or perhaps an old feature that has been removed?

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the help here. Now, I used to use a pinger with (I think...) aol 4.0. But can't seem to find one now, even the old one I used to use.
Anyway, thanks again, and if anyone finds or has a pinger they use with aol, please let me know.
Have a fantistic holiday!

IGetright allows you to set whatever AV program you have to watch over and check anything downloaded by Getright. I've used Getright for a long time now and like JimG, I also use Norton AV. I thoughly enjoy setting it and going into sleep mode, have Getright wake up the puter, connect to the internet, go to the download site, download, hangup and shut the puter off when everythings done.
