Click to See Complete Forum and Search --> : May I know how can I remove my girl friend from those XXX mailing list ?
Hi guys,
My girl friend is keep getting sick junk mail (see below) lately. She is using MS Outlook 98. I even try to click on the url and try to remove from the list. Unfortunately, the URL is broken.
I also email at the sender email address and my email got bounced back. May I know what should I do now ? Please advise.

A couple of addresses I have used have been added to these lists.
They are REALLY annoying
Only advice I could give, would be to ban the addresses (although most of the emails I have seen come from a seperate address every time)
Or to switch email addresses.
I have given up on several addresses, after being sick to death of 20 explicit emails in my inbox every morning.
(And yes, I know there are some of you who like that kind of thing)

What I do is. The only people who have my home e-mail are people I know. I tell them.
No chain mail.
Do Not give my address to any one.
Do not forward a message from me to anyone.
No junk mail or spam.
If you break this rule I will block your address.
For the internet. I use hotmail. One click delete everything. No preview or anything. If I don't see anything in the subject line that is of interest. Its gone in two seconds.
Let the spamers have a field day on your hotmail account. You can delete it just about as fast as they can send it.
Once they have your e-mail addy. It is almost impossible to get it off of thier list. Close your account and make another one.

This is related to the junk mail, although not via the internet...
Whenever you fill out an on-line form or any other thing for that matter, look for the second address line (where you put your apartment number or other instructions if you need to).
If it has one, put the name of the company or internet address in that box. About a week after doing this, I started getting mail for credit cards with the following address:
David C. Moltrup
xxxx Brewerton Road
AMAZON.COM Junk Mail
Mattydale NY, 132XX
Right in the address it tells me where it originated from. In this case, I believe I emailed Amazon.com and told them that I know they sold my name even though I checked the box for them to not do it. They responded with something about the checkbox not working correctly and getting people's selections mixed up... and they would fix it. I've had a few other positive results accor from similar situations.

Now there is something worth trying ;)
I must admit, that when signing up for webpages / forums / email addresses, I never put my personal information in them

Apart from this site of course
:D

I have had to close two accounts before I started the rules I now use. I have not recieved any spam for a long time on my home e-mail account. Hot mail now that is another subject. LOL
The first account the only place I had my e-mail listed was to one web site in my user profile. By the end of 30 days time. I was getting 30+ spam mails a day.

Never click on a "click here to unsubscribe" link as it just confirms your address is real and that a real person reads the mail. You will get more spam.
Never post your email address on a website, the spammers use harvesters that just work there way around the net picking up email addresses to spam.
And obviousley never reply to any spam! if you do its instant spam death.
