Here are two of mine:
I go to college and hence live in a dorm...so the first week my friend calls me and can't seem to get her internet working. So I go over to her room and I am messing with all the settings and they seem to be right. I asked her if the ethernet cable was plugged into the wall she said yes. So after about 20 minutes I finally decided to check the outlet. Sure enough, she had the ethernet cord jammed into the phone jack. Moral of the story: Always check the plugs first.
Middle of the year a friend calls and can't get her printer to print correctly. So I headed over to investigate the problem. I checked all the cords, no problem there. I tried printing something and I noticed that the intake was only working on one side. This is an old HP inkjet, in case you were wondering. So I took the cover off and was looking around....she had a tortia chip jammed between the intake week and the paper shoot. That was fun to dig out! Moral of the story: Tortia Chips are not viable printing material.
