well my poor old 250PSU only pumped out 1.73 volts to the vcore. But in the BIOS I managed to pump it up to 1.825, but when I checked it using SiSoftware it says the vcore is running at 1.86.
Do you think 1.86 is to much for a 1.333Ghz Athlon t-bird? Will this damage my PSU? note: im not running a atx 12 volt cable to my mobo (which is suppost to give my CPU more juice), so I think the extra vcore will balance it out?... I dont want to overclock but with this little overclock I was able to make my system MUCH MUCH more stable!
well anyhelp would be great; here are my system specs:
windows 2000
13Gb Maxtor ata 100 hhd
dvd / cd rom drive
2X 256 pc-133 NEC ram
g2 mx400 64mg

Raising the Vcore should be OK with decent cooling.

You would be wise in selecting a power supply that is listed on the official AMD site.

The minimum combined power rating must be over 190. I use and recommend the Antec PP403X power supply. It will keep those 4v & 3.3v rails at spec. and never work with a PS that has a combined power rating below the 190 combined power rating.

Well a normal 1.33 t-bird runs at a Vcore of 1.78
So you have put it up a pretty large bit. But if your temps are fine then their isnt much worry.
Also I would really reccomend you get a new PS right away or within a week. As being underpowerd isnt a healthy thing.

is there a safe way to blow a PSU?.. I need a reason to buy a new one :D . Well im jk, im prolly gonna look into a nicer PSU as soon as I get some more cash.
my 1.73 my CPU ran at 43ºc at idle, and it still runs at that level. I think I got a cheap *** copper heatsink with the wrong mixture of copper to what ever "extra" metal they may add because my temps didn't change that much.
but thanks for the help, its nice to get a good load of responce from you guys!
