Editing Post changes URL links???

Has anyone else noticed that editing a new post changes ANY URL links you have inserted?

It did it to me tonight, made a new post in PC Steals and Deals and forgot to add something. Edited message and URL's I had added came back as HTML code. I submitted without changing any of this code and that's how it showed up in the edited message.

Had to re-edit the message, delete all the code, re-type the URL and then re-submited.

Came out correct as a clickable link.

When you edit your message, just delete the html stuff and leave the URL.

Oh, yes, I think they're very aware of this, but it probably just the way Ultimate Bulletin Board made this program that SysOpt is using. http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/frown.gif I think it's a real pain in the ****, if you ask me!

Well since we are all aware of it try THIS.

Minimize the SYSOPT WINDOW.

Grab the url from the page you're looking at by click to highlight and right click and copy.

Minimize the link page till you're done with the post..

If you DO have to EDIT the post, simply erase all the mangled url and re-copy and paste it back into the thread..

orrrr, plant your cursor at the front of the mangled url and delete everything up to the 2nd "http"

When I need to edit the post, I just copy the unmangled URL's from the first post before I hit edit. That way I already have the unmangled URL's on my clipboard to post in the edited post http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Yes, we are aware. The above workarounds are suggested. And yes, it's a pain in the buttocks... http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif but we adapt.

aaah, old Wise One,, NDC has the obvious solution.

Now we Mere Mortals see why the Heavens open up and allow the old Wise Ones passage into our dim-witted lives.
