That's an ATX board so it will come with the printer, com, ps/2 and USB ports built directly on the board. Oh if you can afford it go with a fast hard drive(7200rpm).

Cool, thanks for the reply. I was thinking of getting a different HD, got one thats good and fast but not to expesnive? (this is just my plan, I'm only 17 I'm looking for a job once I get a job I'll build this. would I do better to over clock a duron or stay with the t-bird?

My .02, go for a bigger HD if you can, and if you don't plan on swapping the burner between computers, get an internal drive,it will save you a little cash. I think the board comes with a parallel port built on,so you wont have to buy a card for that. You are in luck on the CPU's, AMD just announced a price drop on alot of their chips yesterday in response to Intel's price drop.
have fun putting it together, whatever you decide on!! http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Edit> just saw the other posts..get a Duron, the price I saw AMD was lowering it to was $55 for an 800Mhz chip.

Okay, so internal CD-RW I'll check for one.. price drop, COOL. HD I was thinking of maybe getting 2 smaller drives. I've been doing fine on my 4gig for the past 3 years now. most of my space is gone to MP3's http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/wink.gif so with the CD-R that'll free up tons of HD space.

Ya' don't need a speedy CD rom so that will save ya' ...and actually your writer can be your cd rom too....

Wouldn't that shorten the life-span of the CD-R lens if you used it as a normal drive?

I been wondering why some people need 2 say cdrom and cdr, it seem like they are copying CDROM. ILLEGAL but heck I but all of us do that anyway. playstation games you rent from blockbuster etc.

I would get a really fast CD-ROM so that the difference between the RW and ROM is worthwhile. You can get a 48x Creative for cheap.
How much did you want to spend on a hd? You can get a 30gb for about $100 (not the best brand). Or you can go my route and get the biggest and the best http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif - IBM 45gb 7200rpm Deskstar. Say the word, and I will give you the link.

A Maxtor Diamond plus 40 20 gig would be really good, Its really fricking fast 7200 rpm ultra 66, and its 100$ from staples.com after coupons( techbargains.com)
The A7V is a good mobo, but Ive read some reviews and the MicroStar K7T Master seems to be a better choice, and at 100 $, youll save some moolah for your other parts.
Your 150$ T-bird could be well replaced by a 800 mhz DUron o/c to 1 gig, and withthe K7T that will be an easy task.(just make sure to buy a good cpu fan, like a golden orb)

You might want to plan for the future also. When I bought my Dell comp in August, I got a 10gb hd. On my last comp, I had a 6.4gb and only used half to 2/3 of it. I never knew I would get Jane's USAF (takes up over 1gb of space) or get a TV tuner and start recording massive videos.
THAT is why I ordered the hd above. It is an EXCELLENT deal!! Usually they are $180 or so. Plus free shipping. With any luck, mine will come today http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif
Good luck http://sysopt.earthweb.com/forum/smile.gif

Correction! The K7T Master DOES NOT OVERCLOCK. You need the K7T PR02 or 2A if you want to oc (2A has native ata 100 support and only costs $5 more). I got mine from www.pcprogress.com. (http://www.pcprogress.com.) I'm putting my system together this w/end and I'll give you my feedback on the mobo.

doctj the master doesn't have multiplier adjustment but you can still overclock the FSB(I've run my K7T PRO at 110Mhz), no 300Mhz increase but still more than stock.

Sorry, the motherboard That I should have named was the MIcrostar K7T Pro-2. That one has the clock multiplier. I guess i got it mixed up. This mobo won the "Best Kt133 mobo" crown from anandtech because of its features, stability, and low price.
The Master is more of a serverbased mobo, with integrated scsi and no clock multiplier.
