Yesterday I installed Norton SystemWorks 2002.

now whenever I have the computer running with NAVAP32w running AOL opens and asks for the password. If I shut down AOL, it just reopens.

When booting the computer when it gets to the point where NAVAP32W loads, AOL starts and NAVAP32 stops and waits for the connection. Aol is even started as I try to reboot. I have to go to Ctrl-Alt-Del and shutdown NAV to get the computer to sutoff.

If I remove NAVAPW32 from the start sequance the machine starts, runs and shutsdown fine.

How do I solve this ploblem, or at least get back to the older version that came loaded by deel that had over 200 days left on my subsrription. (Unfortunatly the new NAV wiped the old NAV)

Open NAV. Click on Options > NAV. Click on Live Update (left pane) and untick Automatic updates on the right.

NAV is doing what it's supposed to do - update definitions automatically. You must now remember to do it yourself. :(

Bill

I have shut off live update. I have even moved live update to a different folder so nav could not find it. Yet it still looks for the connection.

Here's a Symantec KB item on this:

You should post to Symantec's newsgroup. They respond quickly, if lamely. :p
