I have a friend that has an NEC Versa Lite FX Notebook that has an internal Conexant Modem. The problem is that he just upgraded to XP Proffessional to discover that no one seems to be interested in doing drivers for this modem.
NEC makes no mention on thier website and every lead has led to blanks at this point. Would there be a chance that Windows 2000 drivers would work??
Any other advice would be appreciated.

That has been the gerenal consensus with XP, no drivers for the old hardware. A lot of folks have gone to Win2K for that very reason. I don't know if it will work or not, but if the drivers support NT, it will most probably support Win2K.
