Steve R Jones 12-12-2000, 03:27 AM Then again, Dell is a great computer. Have been using them since the 386 days. Warthog 12-12-2000, 05:05 AM Steve is right. Do you think Comcrap or HP is better?? Ha! Max PC also has good reviews of Dell systems. Warthog doctj 12-12-2000, 11:12 AM I think it's partly owned by both Dell and Intel. did you see the report on the P4? Even though a Micron Athlon system beat it in 7 out of 8 benchmarks it still said "P4 shines in video conversion".I thought I was the only one who noticed that they always put inferior Dell systems on the top of their chart. AMD based systems never get top spot even when they're the fastest and best equipped. Glad to know I'm not paranoid. randy48 12-12-2000, 11:59 AM Money talks! You can buy anything you want, if you put out enough cash! Bias or not!! RLT65 12-12-2000, 08:48 PM I also have noticed that PCWorld seems to always praise the intel chips even if AMD has a better (and cheaper) product. Notice also, that Dell does not & probably will not ever sell PC's with any other CPU but the intels!! Rhonda bub 12-13-2000, 12:30 AM I finally let my subscription lapse. Their 'recommended components' are a joke. One month a certain monitor would be #1; 2 issues later when they ranked the same size, the former #1 would be completely GONE! IMHO, reading these forums are a much better way to make decisions on which components to purchase. SysOpt.com
