I am building a P4 2.0 Ghz system. I am deciding between 2 motherboards:

Gigabyte GA-8iTX-E P4 ATX w/sound

Asus P4T-E

Both of these boards have the 850 chipset

Any suggestions would be of of great help in selecting which motherboard I should choose.

If there are any other brands or boards I should consider, please let me know.

I'd apprediate any help. Thanx.

I'm wondering why you are using a P4. The performance of the P4 just isn't worth the extra cost (last time I looked they were half a grand!).
Have you considered an AMD XP 2000? They are half the price, and offer better performance.

If you do have a good reason for buying Pentium (I can't really see one at the moment but each to their own) then I would go Asus. Personally I think seperates are the way to go for performance systems but Asus are a top notch company and I like their boards, support and manuals.

I am running the Asus P4T-E which I built a month and a half ago.

Put it all together, Loaded XP and haven't had a problem yet.

I have built many computers for people with the Asus boards and have no regrets.
