How do I indentify which motherboard I have from the bios string that comes up on boot up?.

simple, use it to search on google or similar. Don't search the whole string, look at parts. for instance a i810 in it means an Intel 810 chipset. Goto www.motherboards.org as well.

The much easier and better way is to get a download of Sisoft Sandra. This will give you far better results assuming you have a Windows (98 or later I think) installed.

Or post the string here. Then someone will get the answer for you.
