Ok on my old tyan trinty kt mobo one of the posts that holds on the heatsink broke whyle trying to take it off
is there any easy or non easy way to fix this?
i would like to put that mobo in a diff pc to use my spare 1.0ghz amd

and i was wondering dose anyone know what type of cd rom drives the mac g4 towers use? i mean do they use ide or seom gay mac thing. i ask cuse i want to get one and gut it a put maybe that tyan board in it but keep all the external things so it looks like a mac even the mac studio sreen . but runs soemthing like XP or som eflavor of windows maybe 3.1... would be easier if the hdd was ide as well

just a though any thoughs on it

and please help on the first question

There is no way to repair the sheared off tab on the socket. What you can do, if the socket has more than that one tab on the side is get one of the heatsinks that has a 3 tab catch...this is the only cure that I know of. Some of the more recent mother boards have holes thru the board, 2 on each side of the cpu socket. These holes are for using a board mounted heat sink...
