My new comp is 5 days old. I'm curious to know which bios revision do you, a fellow a7v266-e owner, believe to be the 'best'. I'm semi-sure I have revision 1004 beta 002 or something like that. Okay, I really don't remember (i'm not near my pc now).

Also, which Via 4-in-1's do you think are the 'best'? I don't subscribe to the notion to always get the lastest of either bios or 4-in-1's because Via and Asus themselves say to find what works and stick with it. I had problems with my old PIII based system when I put in the newer bios and 4in1's.

And while I'm on this subject, which detonators do you think are the 'best'? My new vc is an MSI Geforce 3 ti 200 pro something or other. I'm using 23.12 in XPhome and it runs fairly well.
Thanks in advance.

cheers,

Latest BIOS will be good.
Latest (v4.37 ?) VIA 4in1 will be good.
DetXP v22.80 and v27.42 worked great for me in WinXP. You didn't specify what OS you have (you don't need 4in1 pack on WinXP), so things might run different for you.

I'm using WinXPHome.

So XP doesn't require via 4-in-1's? Serious? Right on.

Which one of those drivers was 1.more stable and 2.better performing?

1. No, you don't need VIA 4in1 in WinXP.
2. Both versions of Detonator drivers are stable and perform more or less on equal level. However, with v27.42 I got about 300 more points in 3DMark2001SE :) and I like the option of making windows transparent ...
