Move to Alabama?

Heh heh...sorry, I couldn't resist.

Some motherboards require thet the heat sink fan be plugged into the headers on the board, the bios sences that there is a fan attached and then it will boot. A few motherboards also have to have a rpm sencing fan, and that requires a 3 pin header and leads from the fan. These are safety features to be sure that a fan is there and running.

I'm not familiar with your board, but thats all I can think of at the moment.

Hi Rick, well...I love sea food...what can I say??...best sea food on the east coast.

I retired from the CSX, and was in Florence many many times...it was headquarters for the Florence Division for many years until all the big department heads were moved to Jacksonville. My office was in Charleston, but Florence was the upper limit of my territory, Savannah was the other end.

Hey Rick, yep...I didn't consider that. The ATX power supply has two supplies in the one case. There is a 5 volt supply that runs anytime the supply is connected to a live AC circuit. This 5 volts is what is used to turn the main supply on and off. When the ATX supply is first turned on, the 5 volts hits the motherboard and initializes itself and is now ready to control the computer. It will turn things on briefly then back off as the system is initialized.

BitsNBytes, I mis read your post, and thought your name was Rick...so I put my comments about Florence to 'Rick' thinking that was your name, but now I see that you were making a comment to rickdcableone.

I forgot to mention Rick, I have eaten a lot of MS's fine sea food. My daughter lives in Gautier MS, just west of Pascagoula...he's Navy. I am from Florida, and have vacationed and fished the Gulf from TX to So. Fla over the years. There ain't nothing like those fresh shrimp and oysters from the Gulf...much bigger and better than what we have in the Atlantic here. As a matter of fact, most all of the 'eating' shrimp and oysters we serve in the resturants here come from the Gulf during season.

Okedoke Rick, one last parting shot. When they were transferred to Pascagoula, he was in school...so I went with the family to help house hunt. We stayed at the Navy 'Motel' at Biloxi on base there for a couple of weeks.

My mistake, it was Gulfport instead.
