Installation and Usage
Installing the Iomega Rev 70GB external drive proved a snap. The drive includes a USB cable and power cable.
The driver software installed without a hitch on our test system, and required a restart.
We did run into some problems, however, when we attempted to use our testbed system after we installed the driver, but without the Rev drive attached. Indeed, when the driver is installed and the Rev isn't present, Windows XP SP2 hangs on launch. Safe Mode hangs while installing IMDRVFSF.SYS, a component of the Rev driver. The only workaround we found was to add the drive back to the machine.
Also, during one spot of testing, the drive strangely vanished from our desktop. Moments later, Windows indicated that it detected the addition of a "TUSB6250 Boot Device". Reinstallation of the driver solved this problem.
Apart from those glitches, the drive worked perfectly, and didn't give us any additional trouble.
