Internal Design and Accessories
An inside view shows the enclosure barely wide enough to hold the sideways-mounted drive, with a controller card located behind the drive, beneath the cooling fan. The short black-and-white lead ends at a thermistor, used for automatic fan control.
The top side of the controller card features RAM, ROM, and an RDC R2882-G 10/100 network processor. Under the card are the IC+ IP101A Internet transceiver and Prolific PL-2507 USB-to-IDE bridge controller.
The NexStar LX includes a User Manual, USB mass storage driver for Windows 98, power supply, power cord, USB cable, network cable, screws, and a piece of tape for mounting the included thermistor. As with most Vantec hardware packs, an extra screw is included in case you lose one.
