Optimal Memory Latency, Capacity, Speed, and Voltage? Super Talent, Indeed!- Page 1/6

A new brand from an old company, Super Talent enters the market in the biggest way: taking on and taking out the major players by offering the fastest RAM a standard system can hold. But let's not get ahead of ourselves -- who is this shiny new brand?
Founded by Abraham Ma in Silicon Valley, MaLabs has for 20 years produced memory devices for OEM distribution. And now you're probably thinking, "So what, another brand-less manufacturer" -- but it gets stranger. MaLabs' operation has run continuously straight out of California, the good ol' U.S. of A., years after most companies moved production to Asia. The founder's more recent efforts to think outside the white-box market (ahem) fostered the Super Talent brand. And now that you're a little more curious, prepare to be shocked!
We're taking a look at the company's T800UX2GC4 PC2-6400 dual channel 2GB kit. Packed in a plain, clear package with a cheap paper label are two unassuming modules each sporting ordinary aluminum heat spreaders. Before you close this page, check the specs: 2GB, 800MHz data rate, and CAS 4-3-4-8! This is in sharp contrast to other companies, many of whom require overclocking tricks to reach even lesser timings on their PC2-6400. Let's see if this new player really is the Super Talent of the memory industry!
