The Intel X58 Express: Don't Fight the Future
The new Core i7 processor is getting all the press, and deservedly so, but Intel also unveiled a brand new X58 platform as well. As much as the Core i7 changes the Intel processor landscape, so too does the X58 Express redefine the chipset's features and duties, as well as keeping its eye firmly on the future and not the past.

All in the Family: Intel Releases the 4 Series Chipsets
After introducing the powerful X48 chipset, Intel had a big hole in their mainstream lineup - one that has just been filled by the new P45 and G45 4 Series chipsets. The P45 standardizes mainstream support for the 45nm Core 2 processors, while the G45 offers 1080p HD video with all the fixin's.

Is the X48 King? ASUS P5E3 Premium/WiFi-AP @n Edition Motherboard Review
The Intel X48 chipset is finally here, and motherboard vendors are all trying to hit that "sweet spot" with enthusiast buyers. The ASUS P5E3 Premium/WiFi-AP @n Edition motherboard certainly won't be caught napping in any performance or features comparison, but its $400 price tag just might induce sticker shock.

The GA-EP35-DS4 Motherboard Review: Gigabyte Ushers in Dynamic Energy Saving
Gigabyte is all fired up about their latest Dynamic Energy Saver utility, and offers up the GA-EP35-DS4 as the poster child for their new technology. This feature does work, but the excellent overclocking, performance and features of the Gigabyte P35 Express-based motherboard overshadowed it for the most part.

More Cowbell: NVIDIA and AMD Up the Multi-GPU Ante
Just when it looked like 2-way SLI and CrossFire would be enough for the enthusiast market, here come AMD and NVIDIA with a new wave of 3-way and even 4-way multi-GPU platforms. The AMD 790FX and nForce 780i SLI are looking to rewrite the high-end platform handbook, both for gamers and multi-monitor aficionados alike.

Moving AMD Forward: Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 Motherboard Review
The latest and greatest AMD processors and video cards have been unveiled, but hardware enthusiasts still need a high-end platform. The AMD 790FX would seem to hold all the keys, offering Phenom support, quad CrossFire possibilities, and a ton of performance and overclocking options. The Gigabyte GA-MA790FX-DQ6 hits all of these requirements and is a very impressive platform base.

NVIDIA's take on Media Centers: Gigabyte GA-73UM-S2H Motherboard Review
Intel has had the integrated graphics market to itself for far too long, and with Vista Aero compatibility becoming almost a standard requirement, it's great to see NVIDIA jumping back in. The Gigabyte GA-73UM-S2H motherboard is based on the GeForce 7150, and it gives us a very good look at the features, performance and target market of this new chipset.
