The GeForce GTX Gets a Facelift: NVIDIA Releases the GeForce GTX 285 & 295
It took NVIDIA a long time to finally unseat AMD and their ATI Radeon HD ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 from the top of the performance chart, but the GeForce GTX 295 has finally done it. And with the single-GPU GeForce GTX 285, it adds up to a potent one-two punch.

The NVIDIA nForce and AMD Radeon Take GPUs in Two Different Directions
AMD must have been looking at that prime $100-$150 market niche for a little while, as the new Radeon HD 4830 graphics card makes a very snug fit. NVIDIA is looking in the other direction, introducing a GeForce 9 series integrated graphics platform, but also thrusting it into a maelstrom of sub-$50 dedicated video cards.

The Radeon HD 4350 and 4550: AMD's Entry-Entry-Level GPUs
AMD already has a stranglehold on the high-end, mainstream and entry-level video card markets, but that doesn't seem to be enough, and the entry-entry-level Radeon HD 4350 and 4550 take us below the $50 mark. These two new members of AMD's GPU family may not take the gaming crowd by storm, but these do have value in SFF and HTPC environments.

The ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series Offers Mainstream Performance for Under $100
The ATI Radeon HD 4650 and 4670 are an interesting pair of graphics cards, as these try to duplicate the success of the Radeon HD 4800 series, only in the entry-level market. These cards offer a R700-level feature set, class-leading power consumption figures, and very impressive performance for their sub-$100 market segment.

How the Other Half Lives: AMD and NVIDIA Launch Budget GPUs
The high-end AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards do get the lion's share of the media attention, but bargain hunters also need their graphics fix. The low-cost GeForce 9400 GT is one potential option, as is the onboard HD 3300 graphics of the 790GX chipset, or you can just wait for the upcoming Radeon HD 4000 wave of budget cards.

NVIDIA Mines the GeForce 9 Series to Refresh its Mainstream Line
Right after taking over the single-GPU performance crown with their GeForce 200 series, NVIDIA has dipped back into the GeForce 9 well for their latest round of GPUs, These new products cover all levels of the mainstream market, from the baseline GeForce 8500 GT to the high-end GeForce 9800 GTX+, but is releasing additional video cards really the answer?

AMD Fires Back with the ATI Radeon HD 4800 Series
The ink isn't even dry on the latest NVIDIA GeForce GTX 200 series launch, and AMD has moved ahead with a new Radeon HD 4800 series, including the impressive Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 graphics cards. AMD has also exhumed the old All-in-Wonder name and released a new HDTV tuner-graphics card combo.

The summer movie season is well known for its blockbuster mentality, but now NVIDIA has joined the crowd with its latest GeForce GTX 200 series - a 65nm behemoth that brings 1.4 billion transistors, 240 stream processors, and over 240GB/sec of bandwidth to the table, perhaps making even the Incredible Hulk green with envy.
