Less Heat and Noise: The CoolIT Systems Eliminator CPU Cooler Review- Page 1/5
November 1, 2007
By Theo Cevallos

Performance users and hardcore gamers often choose water-cooling as their system cooling solution, and the reasons are very simple: the technology works better and is much quieter. Such features, however, do come with a premium price tag that most users aren't willing to cover. End users may question the need to spend several hundred dollars on a liquid cooling kit when an aftermarket cooler, or even a stock retail cooler, will probably suffice.

On the other hand, many enthusiasts swear by their water cooling systems, stating that it's money well spent. The old "different strokes for different folks" adage comes to mind, and buyers will need to decide which individual cooling solution is appropriate for them.

The liquid cooling market is filled with products from different vendors, all claiming better performance and lower noise operation. Among them, is CoolIT Systems - a company that earned respect shortly after releasing the Freezone CPU Cooler, a liquid cooling kit that was introduced late last year and proved to be one of the best coolers ever.

Unlike other water cooling kits, the Freezone sports MTEC Cooling Technology. Instead of using a radiator to cool the water, this technology makes use of Peltiers to chill the liquid as it's being pumped through the cooler. It surely proved to be an interesting design and impressed many hardware enthusiasts upon release.

This time around, CoolIT Systems surprises us with a lower cost version of the Freezone, the Eliminator CPU Cooler. It makes use of the same MTEC Cooling Technology, and supports both AMD and Intel processor sockets. Let's take a closer look at the Eliminator.
